    been busy but yeah lots of cute seems a good description of how politicians like to talk about their love of something like the elderly or vetrans instead of their policies for those people.

    I had a question on my pre-calc final exam that asked.

    How much money would be in a continuously compounded saving account that started with an initial investment of $4,000 that paid 4.5% interest after 10 years.

    One student answered

    5.7 x 10^18 dollars

    Holy crap, that’s more money than has ever existed!

    I want one of those accounts.

    I have a six step “Application Solving Strategy” and step number five is “Does your answer make sense?” I keep a list of the funniest impossible answers I have ever seen on an exam to highlight the utility if this step..

    This baby is going up there with the guy who said that a 747 flying from L.A. to Honolulu used 7.4 gallons of jet fuel.
