Marines Against the American Police State?

I want to send the following message to Wall St and Congress:

I didn’t fight for Wall St. I fought for America. Now it’s Congress’ turn.

My true hope, though, is that we Veterans can act as first line of defense between the police and the protester. If they want to get to some protesters so they can mace them, they will have to get through the Fucking Marine Corps first. Let’s see a cop mace a bunch of decorated war vets.

That’s from a marine headed to Wall St. to try to keep the NYPD from brutalizing protesters. I hope they succeed. I haven’t been paying attention, so I have no idea what the occupy Wall St. protest is about, nor do I much care. All I care about is that they have a constitutional right to protest, and the cops are demonstrating all that is wrong with my country. Have we learned nothing since 1968? Lawrence O’Donnell’s commentary is exactly on target.

Wow! MSNBC has someone worth watching? I may just have to pony up the cash to buy cable.

I have been listening to NPR’s coverage of the Wall Street protests. I hadn’t heard about any attacks on the protesters.

It seems to me that a more appropriate place to protest would be in front of the capital, White House and Treasury building. These are the people that gave our money to Wall Street to bail their asses out.

Still, I support their right to peacefully protest.
