Another Victory for Equality

A federal judge has blocked a Michigan law that banned public agencies from giving health care benefits to partners of same-sex couples. According to the judge;

“It is hard to argue with a straight face that the primary purpose — indeed, perhaps the sole purpose — of the statute is other than to deny health benefits to the same-sex partners of public employees. But that can never be a legitimate governmental purpose.

I’d suggest the person do the math, but if they went to school in Michigan they probably can’t.
