“It is a Fight That We All Must Prevail Against to Make Our Country What it is Today”
That’s the title of the student’s paper. Reading the paper itself didn’t help.
Lol – and I thought trying to correct a 10-year-old’s roundhouse kick was hard.
Well, I’d probably be even more lost trying to do that.
So are they using some kind of random text generator or has this been edited via Manadrin and Albanian using google translate?
I just read another student’s paper about the federal shutdown, in which she wrote, that in 2011 there was a “near close encounter” to a shutdown. Doesn’t that mean we never came close to one?
I’m not trying to be harsh. It’s a good paper, and most of use make occasional errors like that. I just always find them amusing (even, or perhaps especially, when I do it).
Well, at least as a math instructor I don’t have to endure essays consisting of inane babble.
Although, I do get some pretty stupid answers to word problems, or applications as they are euphemistically called these days. Apparently the term “word problem” hurts the poor dears self-esteem.
One erstwhile student, when asked to find the maximum profit earned by a hot dog vender from a given quadratic function, gave a recession inspired answer of negative $56!
Wow, apparently tough times in the hot dog biz.
Good grief, surely even if they knew nothing about the subject they should have realised that answer didn’t make sense. It’s only one step up from two dry ducks.
